What we do
RPA provides tough, attractive powder coated finishes for a wide range of customers including manuacturers of shop fittings, point-of-sale material, office furniture, architectural fittings and signs, roller shutter doors, valve bodies, green houses, aerials, security grills and many, many more...
We offer and process all RAL and BS powder coating finishes which include a full range of matt, semi gloss, gloss textured and hammerite coatings all in accordance with BS standards.
The Powder Coating Process
Good preparation is the key to achieving good paint finishes. All components are inspected and treated to ensure that they are clean and oil free. If required, masking is also carried out at this stage.

Spraying
Powered paint is sprayed onto the components using an electrostatic processwhereby the paint particles are charged as they leave the gun and are attracted to the surface of the earthed components.
Long life primer
The life of the powder coated top coat can be extended by applying a long life primer beneath it. This is particularly important for outdoor applications which are exposed to the elements. For maximum protection components should be shotblasted back to the bare metal before the application of a long life primer then a top coat. Stoving
The coated components are then stoved in our ovens at just under 200oC. This melts the powder to form the painted finish and bonds it to the surface of the component.
Packing
The final part of our process is to pack the painted components in accordance with our customers requirements.
Our Facilities
We operate two ovens:
Automatic Conveyor
This is a continuous feed camel back oven which can accommodate components up to 3.6 metres in lengh and a small part throughput of up to 200 units per hour
Box Oven
This is designed to accomodate larger jobs of up to 6 metre in lengh.
